Handmade in Portugal
Our Ollas are handmade in Portugal by our potter artisans, in the workshops of Ana & Vitor, in the Leiria region — where ceramics have been crafted for generations and generations.
Each of our ollas is a unique handcrafted object; no two have exactly the same texture and surface, which makes each one truly one of a kind.
A system as old as the (terra) earth
Ollas use an ancient technique dating back to antiquity: the natural porosity of the ceramic allows water to seep out gently and directly at root level, ensuring steady hydration.
It's a method that respects the natural rhythm of plants, giving them the water they need, when they need it.

FAQs
What is an olla?
An olla is a terracotta pot designed to water your plants autonomously and efficiently. It slowly releases water to hydrate your plants on a continuous basis.
How do I use an olla?
Plant the olla in the pot, close to your plant — make sure to leave part of the olla sticking out above the soil. Fill it with water and you're done! Now just sit back and watch your plants thrive!
How often should I refill the olla?
Generally, filling the olla once a week is enough — but this may vary depending on the climate and the type of plant.
Can I use an olla with all my plants?
Yes, ollas are suitable for all green plants, whether indoors or outdoors.
They're ideal for plants that need a consistently moist soil.
Just remember, if you use them outdoors, bring them inside when it freezes ❄
Can my olla damage my plants?
No, the olla delivers water in measured amounts, avoiding the risk of overwatering and supporting the optimal health of your plants 💚
Where should I place the olla in the pot for maximum effect?
Place the olla close to your plant so that water is distributed evenly to the roots. Make sure the olla is in good contact with the soil.
What if I go on holiday?
The olla is the perfect solution for keeping your plants hydrated while you're away. Fill it with water before you leave, and it'll take care of your plants until you're back.
For longer trips, we recommend watering the surface as well as filling your olla — it'll then take over once your plant has absorbed the surface water.
Does the olla work with pots of all sizes?
Yes, we offer different sizes of ollas to suit different pots and different plants.
For pots smaller than 15 cm in diameter, we recommend our Mini Ollas
How do I care for my olla?
Rinse the olla with clean water from time to time to remove any mineral deposits. And that's it!
